Follow Me –Christ’s trip to Jerusalem
Luke 9:51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem.

Christ is in charge to bring fruitfulness and victory. This includes commitment and permanent surrender on our behalf.

1. Christ was set to go stedfastly to Jerusalem. When we are called by God for a calling on our life, we are to go steadfastly. We are to set our face to accomplish his purpose.

2. Many of our issues dealing with human relationships are directly related to our issues with Jesus Christ.

Where men stand today in relationship to Jesus Christ is becoming clearer and clearer as we approach the time of his soon return.

The Kingdom of God is of utmost importance. God says, “My claims on your life are first.”

Follow me means:
1) The call of Christ and his supremacy as he calls men
2) The urgency of the immediate decision to follow Christ whatever the cost may be is weighed in the balance. Nothing should come before Christ.
When God calls us to “Follow me” it is his favorite method of calling men to his service for :
1. salvation 2. good works 3. to higher work

Follow me- Christ calls and I will:
1. Teach you things
2. Watch over you
3. Guide you

These are the words
1. Confidence
2. Submission in your day-to-day activities in confronting people

“Follow me” means
1. Trust me
2. Put your confidence in me
3. Obey me
4. Guidance-I know the way and can guide

You may ask, “Will everything be ready for me when I arrive at the destination?” Everything will be ready, and everything will be alright. Trusting Jesus means to have made all the preparations for the journey and for everything else that is out in front of you.

The message illuminates the thought in the words of Christ-“Follow Me.”
1. I want nothing for myself.
2. Surrender everything
3. My business belongs to God
4. Jesus Christ is the Chief Operating Officer
5. Jesus Christ is the Chief Economic Officer
6. He is the Chairman of the Board of my life
7. The Resident is the President-Holy Spirit
8. The Border is the Boss
9. He has authority over all I possess
10. The right things in my life are safer with Christ-He will build, bless, glorify, move
11. I submit everything to Jesus
12. Everything needs to go through Christ
13. I want Jesus Christ to tell me what to do. I cannot chose my own calling.
14. I must lay aside my own compass, design, reasoning, plans and abandon them.
15. God is equal to every situation. He is ever-present, never failing, and all-sufficient.
16. And at evening when we pitch our tent at the the place he has led-we are going to find everything has been prepared and all taken care of. We’ll find a way of escape from every temptation that can lurk in the darkness or spring out at us to attack. That’s the universal picture of trusting souls.

Victory-fulfillment to the highest in life.
Jesus has all the authority to say, Follow Me.

It is what he would say to you today to whatever you are facing in your life.
Our circumstances in our lives may be different because the road we are assigned to travel is different for each one of us. The task or the assignment may be different but the call to follow Christ is the same.

In Christ’s claim to have all authority, we can allow him to;
1. Guide me
2. Lead me
3. Deliver me
4. He insists on complete obedience and submission to show our belief in him, I have the knowledge to lead and if you follow me, you will demonstrate your belief by following
5. A child can understand this, Nothing elese needs to be added or said.

The final triumph of the Christian life will be seen in the same way when a trusting soul finds himself in final confidence in Christ as he follows him as he crosses the threshold right into the other room.

This is an extremely difficult point. This mistake can be made in the mental, emotional realm as well as the physical realm. If God is leading you in a particular situation, do not go ahead of him in projecting how it will happen or when it will happen. This is a crucial mistake I have made more than once, even just recently.

You need to give Jesus everything.
Don’t get on the train until Jesus tells you to-do not get in front of Jesus, get behind him. And follow him.

It is better to be his companion in the lonliest of nights than to be housed without him.
Definite decisions:
1. Costly and painful but are not the final things. It is our supreme duty.
2. When we lay all at Christ’s feet, God’s name is glorified.
3. Come with an expecting, believing, trusting and open heart.

God will take care of you.
Hebrews 13:5 For he hath said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.
May your troubled heart find peace and comfort in the knowledge that you are never alone. May God’s presence ease your trembling spirit and give you rest. He knows how you feel. He is ever aware of your circumstances and ready to be your strength, your grace, and your peace. He is there to cast sunlight into all your darkened shadows, to send encouragement through the love of friends and family and to replace your weakness with new hope. God is your guide, your rock, your fortress, you need never be afraid. No circumstances can block his love. No grief is too hard for him to bear. No task is too difficult for him to complete. When what you are feeling is simply too deep for words and nothing anyone says or does can provide you with the relief you need…God understands. He is your provider. Today tomorrow, and always. He loves you! Cast all your cares upon him and believe!!!!
