Public Schools Articles
1: Evolution, 150 years of lies and deceit?
Is evolution a fact of life, a model or perhaps a deception? Modern evolutionary science still reveals many holes in the foundations of this theory and recent discoveries seem to point to more than just chance and time. Has evolution become a religion instead of an objective scientific theory?
2: Programming your Education
Public schools are more likely to program a child than educate him.
3: The Knowledge Crisis
Thanks to 150 years of public schools, Americans have become less and less literate. In fact, in 1850 this country was about 95 percent literate. Today it is barely 60 percent literate and those few who can read don't really understand what they have read. They're functionally illiterate. This knowledge crisis goes beyond mere academics. Prior to public schools, most Americans were taught at home by mom who used the Bible as her number one textbook. Part of the reason for public schools was to get the Bible away from our children and turn Americans into obedient humanists. As in the biblical days, we as a nation can be divided into four categories: wise, simple, foolish and scornful. It's up to the wise to help us simple one keep from making foolish mistakes. Only prayer can help the foolish and especially scorners.
4: "At-Risk" Students
America’s public school system is one system, and federal money is the glue that binds them together. Somes schools are better than others, but there really all bad. That's because someone doesn’t want Americans to be well-educated --independent. One-third of all public school students currently in the 9th grade will not graduate high school on time, if at all. America’s high school dropouts and many of her high school graduates are facing a pretty bleak future, thanks to their lack of reading, writing and math skills. Really though, we’re all affected by illiteracy, for we’ve become a nation of unthinking, government-dependent proles.
5: The Age of the Human Race
How old is the human race? Millions of years or – as the Bible claims – much, much younger than that? The advance of genetics allows new techniques to estimate the age of mankind. The results might surprise you!
6: Thousands are functionally illiterate
This article summarizes RC Murray's assessment of public schools based on his four years experience as a high school English teacher. He wrote the article and sent it to the local paper then resigned from teaching and returned to being a technical writer. But he promised himself and his readers in the article that he'd eventually document everything he learned "in" public school classrooms and "about" public school classrooms. Nearly two years later, he published that documentation: Legally STUPiD: Why Johnny doesn't have to read.
7: Just Where is that Wall of Separation between Church and State?
There is no language in the First Amendment to the US Constitution requiring a "wall of separation" between church and state. As explained by US Supreme Court Justice Reed in a 1948 dissent, there is no historical support for that idea either.
