Service men and woman, I still believe, That we of so many owe so much to so few. Honor Their Service to us....We may not agree with any war we are involved with thats our right ( bought with the blood of service people).
We may protest in public in front of news cameras and become famous getting ourselves arrested and spending a night in jail. And the enemy will love us too. We have given them an already made propaganda tape that they can show to their troops and supporters, which will undoubtedly bolster their resolve to fight and kill more of our troops. Decent within America is the enemies best news of success on their part.
And I'm sure our troops upon seeing the protest or criticism will feel well supported also.. It's hard enough being a soldier without unfounded accusations and lies being told about them, but some in America are doing just that...
The time to debate going war is BEFORE we get involved in one..
Once in a war, FIGHT TO WIN IT... Our troops are, with their lives.. How are we contributing to the their success, or failure?.
An Army needs more than just money to succeed, it needs the support of those who sent them. It needs the knowledge that if they die in prosecuting the war that others will carry on until victory is won. Who wants to go to fight a war that may not be supported later and call for retreat. I would not go.. Who wants to die for nothing...
Here is a little from our History we should take into account before publicly criticizing our policies and military:
General Giap was a brilliant, highly respected leader of the North Vietnam military. The following quote is from his memoirs currently found in the Vietnam war memorial in Hanoi:
"What we still don't understand is why you Americans stopped the bombing of Hanoi. You had us on the ropes. If you had pressed us a little harder, just for another day or two, we were ready to surrender! It was the same at the battles of TET. You defeated us! We knew it, and we thought you knew it. But we were elated to notice your media was definitely helping us. They were causing more disruption in America than we could in the battlefields. We were ready to surrender. You had won!"
See, the old saying, "Loose lips sink ships" still holds true.
Vietnam was lost here on US soil, not by our soldiers in Vietnam, no it was lost by those who called our service people "Baby killers" and other terrible things. By spineless Politicians and the news media.. Are we determined to do a replay of this type of support of our Military who honorably serve and protect us? I ask you...

I agree, we need not waste a soldiers life in accusations, innuendo, and belittling his progress in the prosecution of a war we sent him or her to fight. Unless we are willing to take his or her place. Our only job is to support him or her with everything in our power including our utterings.
Wars are fought to success by those in the fight. Wars are lost by civilian arm chair Generals who talk, rely on poles, and are swayed by public opinions ever changing flow. As stated above once a desission is made to send our young in harms way, WAR. Leave the War fighting to them and their leaders. Our Civilian and Political responsibility is to support them, PERIOD..
