Dear Editor,
The unwillingness of Democrats and Republicans to justly and uniformly enforce existing immigration law has allowed the problem of illegal immigration to become nearly intractable. The members of establishment political parties have abdicated their duty to protect these United States from invasion by foreign powers as required by the Constitution (Art. 4, Sect. 4). A new report written by the House Committee on Homeland Security titled, "A Line in the Sand: Confronting the Threat at the Southwest Border", documents that our unprotected border with Mexico is gateway through which criminals and terrorists enter our country.
A recent press release published by the American Independent Party on PRWeb http://www.prweb.com/releases/2006/5/prweb387878.htm asserts that protecting the rights of citizens is the first and most important duty of government. Since its inception in 1967, the American Independent Party has opposed the violation of our immigration laws. All other political parties in California are sacrificing the inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness of citizens on the malignant altar of illegal immigration.

okay we all know that illegal immigration has become an issue but what can we do if the government just continues to turn the other cheek and place the blame on other people? yes we do need to worry about the safety of our citizens and protecting our rights but do stop immigration all together. find a new system, better one. these people are obviously coming over here because they want something better for themselves or their families. dont chase them away. help them out.

i think that no matter if we protect the border or not their will still be criminal everywhere that we go. not just because our border is unprotected that it means criminal and terrorist enter our country.

I feel that they should set up the entry to this country kinda like an airport now with tight security and stuff and the ppl that get passed the security and stuff are aloud to enter but they also need to be able to sppek english and the test and stuff they have should be harder but not too hard so that ay it will give ppl a chance to do something or becom something or give them the oppertunits to have something.

First off not everybody coming from the southwest border is a criminal or a terrorist. Yes some people who are not citizens that come here are bad but a lot of them are not I have family that came to this country illegally to help better themselves and have a better life for their family because they didn’t have that kind of opportunity in Mexico and the whole thing about the southwest border is crap to because if you close that off there is still other ways for people to get in this country

I think we should be able to have our right protected, but there are so many illegal immagrants now that it would be hard to get them all out. Also we need to better protect our boarders so that we don't have criminals coming to our country.

i dont think that we should take precausions as far as closing of the southwest border. But people who come over here illegally should at least respect the rights of American citizens and not take all the jobs. Also when they come to america make sure they can speak english. i should not be required to learn spanish in school when i am an american citizen and my language is english. if you come into our country learn to speak out language

Honestley there are people who are trying to go over the boarder who arent good people. Yeah some are going to be crimanals.So there needs to be a better security to go over. But at the same time there are people who want to come over that are good.

It is a great point to state that the major point of our government is to protect the rights of our citizens. Although immigration is out of control at this point in time, the majority of these immigrants help the citizens, not hurt them. It has driven down the price of our products and offered new ways for us to continue to refine our system. The Constitution is a living document, not a dead one. The result should be us continuing to refine what already exists in a great system. We need to look for realistic solutions.

Although it is a great way for terrosists and criminals to get in, i dont think that is the biggest problem, but it still needs to be adressed and i do believe alot of criminals do come from mexico, but they dont do it to become criminals, more to just survive.

Why is it that our country is not POLITICALLY CORRECT in requiring legal entry to this county.. WHY is it that Mexico Hates the idea of us daring to guard our borders while their police and military rape, rob and kill immigrates crossing their southern border.
Sure not all illegal aliens are bad. But without border accountability who knows who is or is not. Why does the liberal media down play the number of Citizen deaths do to murders and car accidents each year by illegal aliens. Conservative number is approx 7,000 deaths per year directly related to illegal aliens. Sense 9-11 that number would add up to 35,000 deaths of American Citizens. That's more deaths than Terrorist have been able to cause in all their attacks against us including the loses in Afghanistan and Iraq put together.
No Citizen is against anyone bettering themselves by coming here LEGALLY. But to have illegal invaders march in our streets rubbing their nose in our flag while proudly displaying theirs has awakened many citizens to the fact that we were lied to by our government in the 80s when we gave 3 million amnesty with the promise to secure our borders.
If illegals are so proud of Mexico, why did they leave, or why not stay there and protest for better living conditions? We have enough burden in Social Services etc in helping ourselves and those who come here LEGALLY without having unexpected illegal guest at the table.

FIRE ALL OUT POLITICIANS FROM THE PRESIDENT ON DOWN...if they refuse to follow the laws regarding illegals invading our country demanding rights they do not deserve and should not receive. ALL our politicians should be held accountable and should be jailed and even lose their retirement benefits. ONE TERM IS ENOUGH...for their failure to send illegals back to their own country! Why should be continue to send millions of taxpayers dollars to Mexico. They should be using funds from their oil reserves to take care of their own people but they DON'T !!! I agree that we need to protect our border... but it's not just the southwest border. The CIA did an investigation and pretended to be illegal immigrants and carried false bombs across the southwest border to Mexico and the north border to Canada. They were stopped every time going to Mexico, but were able to get through the Canadian border FOUR times without anyone questioning them. I think we need to watch every border... it's not fair to us (citizens).

This article is one after my own heart. I think that applying for paper work is an easy thing to do. Our politicians need to build a wall that would separate Mexico and the u.s. The other thing is it uses tax payer dollars to compensate for illegal immigrants.

I think that is wrong that the soutwest border is unprotected which allows criminals to come in. I think illegal aliens should have rights. If the goverment wants to protect our rights than its only right to give illegal aliens rights.

How diffcult is it to go through the legal process of papers?? Honestly if immigrants truly searching for a better life,it makes more sense to do it legally and reap all of the benefits and oppurtunities that way. Rather than coming into this country illegally and struggling to get by. The united states is willing to help, just so long as we can assert the problems at hand and create more oppurtunity.

I agree that the government has not stood by the constitution on this issue, i also agree that it is a gateway for terrorist to enter our country. Yes, hispanics coming into the country is a problem, but that can be solved by making them wait for citizenship in their country and then let them in. The bigger problem with the border control is that terrorist from even the middle east just have to fly to mexico, hop the border and there you go...another American Soil attack. This needs to be dealt with as a national security threat.

I agree that it is a good idea to follow the U.S. Constitution since it’s the document of our country. If anyone does not like the document then they do not have to live here. Illegal immigration is a bad thing, but legal immigration is not. I am glad that at least some people care in the Constitution enough to enforce action, but sometimes I believe that people take things way to far than the should.
