Acts 4:5-13 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, 6And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? 8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; 10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived what that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
I want to emphasize this last part: “they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.”

Ghandi once said, “I would be Christian if it were not for Christians.” Others need to see Jesus in me. All I have for others to see is Jesus. Through us-we are the salt of the earth. If the world says, “I don’t see Jesus in you.” It is a harsh statement. That should provoke me to action. The world deserves to see Jesus in me. You deserve to see Jesus in me. When I was a young Christian, it was difficult for my family to see Jesus in me. They didn’t see any change take place in me. And here I was telling them they were going to hell. They were like, You better hush up.
You know what? I’m going to work a little harder. The world needs to see Jesus in me. Religious leaders did see something good in them. “they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” They need to see something different in us. They should say, “hey, these people remind us of Jesus.” Convince them-they need to see Jesus Christ in us. “Yes, we have been with Jesus, you do act and behave just like the ones you hang out with.” That’s what Jesus Christ looks like. Now, remember, you represent your family-you represent Jesus Christ. My dad told me, “Now, son, remember that you represent the Valdez family.” I didn’t know what that meant. How you conduct and behave, you’re supposed to show that you’re a Christian. How you conduct and behave yourself makes you look good or bad. Work hard and fulfill your responsibilities. Children, remember that you are my children, behave like children of God. We’re supposed to show how a Christian responds. That is what the disciples did. And they got the good response of the world-the world took knowledge of them. The disciples resurrected from the dead. They saw Jesus on the third day! He resurrected from the dead. For fear, they were locked inside the building. They were looking at him. That is awesome. How’d you do that, Jesus? The one thing we have is the resurrected and living LORD and Saviour! He resurrected from the dead. And the church was on fire. Power to resurrect from the dead. Jesus is resurrected from the dead. Jesus is alive! We serve a risen Saviour! If he resurrected from the dead, he can certainly solve your problem! I serve a risen Saviour! Preaching the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Resurrection from the dead! Paul had been preaching and people have died. Before we we are caught up-The LORD is going to resurrect. We have a BRIGHT HOPE. A BRIGHT FUTURE. We are going to be resurrected and caught up with the LORD. Acts 4:8 …Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, …Peter said this with the help of the Holy Ghost. We need to be filled with the Holy Ghost. We feel like we can live the life without the Holy Ghost. Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with the wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; …You’re living the Christian life in your own strength. If you are in ministry, Sunday School, Pastor, and you live in your own strength, you will be discouraged. What are they thinking? Be filled with the holy spirit. When you trust Jesus, the Holy Spirit indwells. John 7:37, John 14:16, 20:22, RESURRECTED-breathed the Holy Spirit-already had the Holy Spirit-come upon them. Power in the building. But the power has to be turned on. I’ve got the power-Glory to God! You would be if you were filled. If you drink, you would be controlled by the alcohol. If you are filled with the Holy Ghost, you will be controlled by the Holy Ghost. Happy. Giving. Serving. What is going on with me? Filled with the Holy Ghost of God. v12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. They believed their salvation only in Jesus. Narrow-minded. Only through him. God will not accept any other name. Only through Jesus Christ. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. People must pay for their sins. In the lake of fire. Only one solution. God in the flesh. God’s only begotten son who took our place. (He took our death at the cross. He took our sins to hell. He took them off like a filthy garment. Remember now, Jesus is holy, not even hell could keep him there. He resurrected!) Only begotten Son who on the third day rose again. Glory to God. That is the only thing that God will accept. Our goodness-filthy rags-that the lepers used to wipe themselves with. They took the puss out of their oozing sores. Then, they burned their rags. Only way for us to be saved- Jesus Christ. Who have you been hanging out with? Who do you look like? The paralytic guy-the impotent guy-RISE UP AND WALK-he was leaping, brushing up, praising God, we miss of what God does because of our routine. Let it be known that we have been with Jesus.
